I just found a huge lump on my lower neck. should i be worried?

it doesnt hurt or anything i can play with it move it around all I want it just feels awkward cuz I have a lump in my neck. Its getting a little red but its a pretty big Lump like 1-2 inches in diamater

Go see family doctor, if it is serious they will refer you to a specialist, then the specialist will inspect it and refer you to a hospital then if they know what it is then its either good, or bad. Goodluck.

I have one too, I got freaked out at first, but it's just a nodule (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thyroid_nodule). If it's not growing in size, don't worry about it.

It could also be swollen from an infection or something, such as a minor cold or even "yeet hay" if you believe in that.

Go see a doctor before freaking out ;)

GO SEE YOUR FAM DOC SOOOON! my mom has one, its smaller now. but when it first appeared she had to have it tested for potential cancerous cell. (thankfully it does not)
but yes, definately go get it checked

It's probably a nymph node. I get them all the time, hurts like hell for a few days, then it slowly gets smaller...it's just part of your body's reaction to fight an infection, cold, flu, etc.

Yea i have a stomach flu/cold right now so that might be the case. Google just freaked me out saying it might be cancer. Ill see the doc tmr just in case

Yeah don't get freaked. 99% chance of it being a swollen lymph node, knowing you have a cold.

could be like everyone said--a swollen lymph node but it could also be a a tumour of some sort. not saying your life is in danger as it can be benign.

i developed a lump in my neck in my teens and found out it was a benign tumour. had to get it taken out and had a very apparent scar on my neck for years. in fact you can still see it to this day but it is much more faint. i'd go check with a doctor anyways to make yourself feel better.

would you mind describing the bump a bit more? Where abouts on the neck is it (so we can differentiate whether it's a hardened lymph node or not). It's not a eruptive vellus cyst since you can move it around

Lymph node. I had this a few weeks back. It started with 1 and then I had 6.

But the worst part was when they shoved a camera up my nose and down my throat.:eek:

Wow typeRnammer, that neck looked really bad. That picture looked as if your node was further back under your neck (as oppose to under back of jaw bone).

Like what other people say, most likely inflammation somewhere in your body or you are fighting a cold (cold season afterall)
