Old Surrey Restaurant at 72nd ave and 132nd st.

I've been here many times over the past 7 years, have yet to have a bad service or poor food.
Would also suggest Mahek for Indian food: http://www.mahek.ca/
Or Tokachi for Japanese: http://www.tokachi.ca/
verynice.

Go to Osamu (http://www.fiveloaves.ca/2009/07/30/osamu-sushi-coquitlam/) in Coquitlam if you want some good Japanese food..

My friends and I enjoy it tremendously. It's a sketchy as hell place in town, but the restaurant inside is nice. They have traditional booths for you, food is top notch for me (far superior to Akasaka, Sushi California) and I have yet to have a poor service there. I wouldn't mind seeing others chime in on this place just to see how it compares to others.

lol hmmm maybe not then as I'd be making the drive all the way from vancouver and same with most of my friends. they'd probably start bitching before they get inside hah
i'll probably just give it a try with a smaller group

Use to go there all the time with my parents and still go now and then. Highly recommend very nice atmosphere and very nice owners as well. The waitresses are also nice and the food is very good quality stuff not your Richmond sushi crap. And they wear their kimono type of outfit which looks damn cool. Everything is clean even the washrooms, even though the neighbourhood kinda sucks with surrey bums all around. Theres usually a lot of cops there so its very safe.

Curious now as to where you went and how the service for 20+ people was.
