: Burning Sensation After Drinking

Whenever I drink, only when I drink HARD and get WASTED. I have this major burning sensation in my upper abdomen that lasts for hours. I'm talking about 5-6 hours of a burning sensation, and i would constantly puke at 30 minute intervals. I try to put myself to sleep, but that never works.

Mind you, I drink occasionally, and I rarely ever get drunk, but when I do, it's always a horrible night for me.

Anyone have the same problem as me?

I was told to take Maalox after being intoxicated, but I'm hesitant about mixing OTC drugs with alcohol.

if you binge drink, it's never good for you,

Try not drinking so hard and getting wasted. See if that helps ;)

Like I said, I only drink occasionally, like a handful of times per year, and get wasted probably twice.

I don't see binge drinking as an issue.

Yeah, it feels somewhat like a heartburn, but it doesn't go away for hours until I vommit all the "alcohol" out of my system.

maybe try taking some pepcid complete before you drink?
that's what i do.. it helps against asian flush and coats your stomach so you don't get wasted as fast..it also prevents tummy aches/burns since it's an antacid.

i went through a phase where all i would drink was tequila or crown, that stuff burns so much..and pepcid saved my life many a time.
also, are you eating well before you start drinking? drinking on an empty stomach gives major burns..

sounds like acid reflux to be honest

try some tums (or just the house brand calcium carbonate) for a first step its pretty much the cheapest way to go.
