In other words, some guys went cheap-ass on lowering and just cut their springs, then when they got laughed at, they called it "VIP" to make it sound like it was supposed to be that way.

Those two are not VIP, maybe some attributes of VIP style.

The first one is just a nicely slammed civic

and the second one is just a *show car*
