: Car got broken into

So i was parked at SFU surrey, on P3 in the FIRST ROW like 10 stalls from the entrance!!! and my car got broken into, they have a camera there but its all blurry so they couldn't see the guy. stole my JVC KDAVX33 stereo. cut the usb cord off, took my entire dash kit with it too!!! they cut off the microphone as well. Im shocked that someone would do this so close to the entrance. I locked the doors, the faceplate was put in the center console arm rest thing. No forced entry it seems like, nothing else taken, and the doors were locked when the fucking thief was done.
I don't know how people have the audacity to do something like this in a well lit area, this just goes to show never take any chances with anything.

Fucking thieves, such an inconvenience :mad::mad::mad: i wish they die and burn in hell!

ps. if anyone sees my stereo on craigslist, plz let me know. I will personally deliver an asskicking.

no forced entry as is everything even the key hole window moldings were intact?

quite ballsy busting into your car at that location, there is always security patrolling on bikes.

when I read "by inside job" I took it as the security people there were somewhat in on it, not necessarily blaming OP for fraudulent claims.

Cars get broken into anywhere anytime. It cannot be stressed enough, NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING OF VALUE IN YOUR VEHICLES. Not even the faceplate itself in the compartments. There's always going to be people low enough to break into a vehicle for a deck, sunglasses, or even change.

I leave my car easily visible of everything and open my ashtray to reveal that I indeed have nothing valuable. It's unfortunate we must come to this just to protect our property from thieves. Pretty much nothing we can do about it.. except to be careful.

Yeah a few friends of mine have had their cars broken into as well. I don't leave anything valuable in my car though. I take all of it out except for the deck that I put in the glove compartment. If anyone ever breaks into my car they will steal the loonie that i keep in the cigarette tray which I use for the buggy for superstore grocery shopping and my single cd case that I use for my re writable mp3 cd.

seems very strange that they could break in with no signs of a forced entry into the car. are you sure you didn't forget to lock the doors? the thief probably just locked it for you after he was done.

Sorry to hear man. :(
Fuck I was at SFU Surrey yesterday as well until 2 am... If I know I'm staying over late working on a project, I'll move my car in front of the huge glass wall where people in the mezzanine can see...

i have a habit of locking the doors, checking all the way around the car... a habit learned from previous mistakes.

What kind of car was it?

Alot of cars can be broken into easily without causing damage to the car.

Sounds like an experienced thief. Frameless windows can be bent, slim jims can be used, and certain model cars door locks are very easy to bypass.

Did you have an alarm?

Actually, Surrey was number 1 in car theft, until the bait car program came in, now I believe the Winnipeg holds the honour..
