I have respect for women's hockey but c'mon...it isn't real hockey without hits. If you want to play a rough sport, learn to take a hit. Non-contact game but there's no reason to get all pissy.

It's not like they're at a restaurant and he socked her in the face. They're playing a game where body-checking is integral.

Back in high school, I was on the rugby team and one of the teams in Vancouver had a girl on their team. Granted she was bigger than me and I swear she had a moustache but still, I assume she had a vagina. We asked our coach what to do since rugby is rough as fuck and he said to treat her like anyone else on the field. She knew what she's getting into and frankly, it would be disrespectful to let up. If women want equality, they gotta take all of it. Don't play in a man's game if you're not willing to play like a man.

At work (former workplace) there was this one chick who was big. I mean she was huge. She had more muscle than most of the guys working there combined. One of the workers, a skinny little shit, mouthed off at her. Well, she took exception and just layed this guy out flat. One punch and it was sayonara. Funny thing is, none of the workers ever made fun of him being beat by a girl. She could more than handle herself. I later learned that she was always getting into bar fights. She got fired for fighting at work. If I ever need a body guard, I'm gonna look her up. And yes, she was as ugly as sin. Maybe that's why she was so aggressive. No lady-like in her, boy.

That wasn't even a hit just a little rub out like they said, Women hockey players are more dirty then men. When I played against chicks they were always slashing and hooking and one even put her stick between my legs and smoked me in the nuts. Shes been in the game long enough to do the right thing, especially to a kid half her age.

It wasnt just any kid.

Dion Phaneuf's 15-year-old brother Dane caused a bit of a stir in Edmonton last week when he rubbed out Hayley Wickenheiser in a non-contact exhibition game against the women's national team. Wickenheiser, 31, took exception to the jarring and let him know by applying a rather violent choke-hold from behind in an effort to try wrestling him to the ice. Dion thought it was funny, and so do I.

There's no such thing as a non-contact hockey league.

Its either Non-Hitting or full-contact.

someone confirm this.

Well in most Adult Rec Leagues its non-hitting.

But in minor hockey they call non-hitting "Body-Contact" where you're allowed to rub the opposing player out. And obviously "Full-Contact" hitting is allowed.

its all fair game...

unlike highschool dodgeball when this big guy in my class headshot a girl from less than 5 ft, her face was red as hell

HAHAHAH man, i know that wasn't me but i did the same thing. i beaned a girl in dodgeball, she was probably 6ft away from me. i already didn't throw it full strength (or even half for that matter) but she was one of those frail girls and went down easily. needless to say, most of the class hated me for a few days, meh.

I don't see what everyone is bitching about here.. She got hit after the play, and responded to it like any hockey player would. I doubt she was roughing him up because "you're not allowed to hit girls in hockey". It was more like what you'd see when any 15 year old punk hits a 30 year old veteran of the sport - they're gonna rough him up a bit.

She's doing exactly what you are arguing for.

she grabbed him like a mom grabs a bad son, not like a hockey player gets back at another player, even in a beer league..

Theres the hit he landed, then the hit she tried to get off. Honestly, theres an understanding to things on the ice.

He roughed her up against the boards while travelling behind the net. It wasn't an open ice hit. It wasn't a cross check. It was, what looked to me, an aggravated shove.

She responded by trying to land a rear naked choke entirely out of spite. Manon Rheaume would be disgusted.

Oh, and

She is a pro. She plays on Men's league teams in Europe.

i was saying that she is a pro and she gets upset over a 15 year old hitting her, that hit does not even draw a second look by the person getting hit in any junior league, WHL, OHL, etc. yet she acts like that?

I agree completely, you start hitting in Peewee, which is when you're like 12 years old. That wasn't even a hit as stated before, but merely a little rub out. Pretty sad how our national women's team is playing against 15 year old kids in Alberta. Not only that but they actually lose which is what I find hilarious :haha:

Like I said, watch any WHL, OHL, NHL game, and see what happens when someone gets run into the boards over a second after the whistle is blown. There is a scrum pretty much every single time.
