Hey guys, issue on the gf's macbook.
Normally I use Utorrent on my PC . Having some issues finding a decent program from her macbook. Tried Vuze, which seemed to be okay, but was very large and seemed to slow the net down. Then tried installing Bittorrent for mac, which seems the torrent i downloading wont start to seed/download etc.
any other programs you guys recommend for the Macs,
thanks

She has os 10.4.11 on her macbook. says that transmission needs 10.5 , and guess that U torrent installed but wouldnt open in dock, would just bounce not open. in forums said it needs 10.5 also
ways to get 10.5 ?? does it cost $ to download?

Looks like you are new to a Mac. You need to drag the Icon to the Applications folder.

I've had no problems using Vuze at all. I'll give Transmission a try though.

Transmission is the best hands down.... the web interface is great too. You can monitor torrents or add new ones to download from another computer or your phone.

The file that should be "dragged & dropped" into the "Applications" folder should have a ".DMG" extension. It that so? If not, what is the file name?

Download file.... says in download manager ( .dmg > contains application would you like to continue downloading) YES.... download complete onto desktop .. open applications folder via HD .. click on Transmission Icon, Drag and Drop into applications folder...
do not see a .DMG extension ( In app folder click get info > transmission.app

check how many things she has opened...option-tab to scroll and while holding those press q to quit apps that are opened...
dmg is what you use to install/when its mounted...when its 'finished' it should show a folder with the icon, arrow and the application folder...you drag it to 'install'/move to that folder

Yea it doesnt do that at all. It appears when installing in the download box doesnt show copying content ie etc etc etc.. Think its an issue with the version of transmission that is prev release for mac os 10.4.11
ill wait till she upgrades to snowlep
thanks guys
