Superstore - No Tax December 10th and 11th
InvisibleSoul

Amazingly, Superstore is doing another no tax event just two weeks after the last one. Usually, they do it just once every 3-4 months.
If you're planning on buying stuff like electronics or gifts, you might want to take advantage of this.
Thursday December 10th and Friday December 11th, 7am to 11pm.
Also, Superstore will be open 24 hours starting tomorrow, Saturday December 5th.

Didn't know it was tax free the past Thursday Friday, just wanted some groceries on a friday night... what a gong show. Saved like $2 in taxes, absolutely not worth it for just groceries.

is there usually no tax on groceries? i went today and bought a bunch of food, but it said gst is only $0.45 and my bill was about $108. nothing about pst too.
i never buy groceries so i have no clue.

That depends on whether the groceries are considered necessities or not. So some items don't get taxed/ the GST is zero rated.

apparently if you went thru self-checkout you have to ask them to reduce the gst/pst from the price before you swipe your card.
also, the signs up in the richmond superstore said the No Tax is only valid until 11pm on both days. so it's not really a 48 hr event. just a heads up if you're expecting to buy shit tonight after work like me.

Spent $250 worth including some groceries and household things that should last me for a few months. Overall saved $45 combining the omission of $20 in taxes and receiving the free $25 turkey.
