Anyone out there know if opening the shroud of a 9800gx2 and reapplying paste to the GPU will void warranty?

My card is going up as high as 105C playing L4D2 and BFG tech support told me to RMA it. But if warranty is voided by opening the card, then I rather not waste money and time shipping it.

Yeah, you should just reapply the paste and clean up the fan.

there are some temp sensors that max out at 105C (not the correct temp) which means that that piece could be broken...can you confirm that it changes?

i reapplied paste to the gpu and heatsink and now my temp is 85C max. but i already sent in a request for rma and was given these forms and stuff, should i still send it in?
