Would have been better if the Stang had better tires on it. That was just a display of drip more than anything.

As much as I like the mustang, I don't think this was a fair fight, they aren't on the same level as track cars. I say save your money and get the base GT500 as the KR really isn't that much better for the money you pay for it and have money left to buy an STI or mods for the GT500 happy days :)

Or just buy a set of drag tires and see how they stack up :D

I don't think this was a fair fight,

Of course it's not a fair fight.

One was designed as a high end performance car from the ground up.

The other is a hopped up version of a car designed for secretaries and balding men in their midlife crisis

Put some drag radials on the GT500 SS should be quite an even match to the GTR.

For straight line 1/4 mile performance should be similar even with both at stage 2 bolt on modifications.

I rather drive the GTR as a daily driver even it costs twice as much.

GTR does not cost twice as much as a super snake -.-

North American car review shows are so damn lame and corny compared to Top Gear.

I think the race was fair from hp or price perspective.
The GT500 Super Snake makes 245hp more than the GT-R, but it's only RWD...so it was an interesting race.

Shelby GT500 Super Snake
725hp, RWD
$79,820 US-$84,820US

Nissan GT-R
480hp, AWD
$80,790US-$83,040US

If the GTR came with a actual manual transmission,I would seriously consider puchasing one for my next car,but for the price they currently are for one, weak ass automatic tranny and that stupid black box,I would much rather look into getting a used Porsche turbo.

Which one is which?

Not many secretaries can afford an 80K GTR, but many can afford a 25k V6 Mustang.

But I get your joke :p

Too bad that would have completely voided the Nissans warrenty, and probably done a shitload of damage to the trans, where as on the Mustang..........nope!

Your correct on that one.

I just don't understand why Nissan does not offer a maual transmission as another option for the GTR.

yea they should've offered manual tranny too..but auto is faster though, even porsche 911 turbo's auto is faster than manual's
