Haha ok from the US Florida - moved to Massachusettes imported to BC
64000 MILES = about 102000 Km
one fender bender fixed privately by owner
scuffed 19 inch Audi rims

I paid $23,000 CAD

Did I get a good deal?

Any ideas how I should pimp this guy out? One cool thing is that it has 4 suspension settings that I can set on the car computer! Cool!

Crap that's cheap, for an A8L. If there's no hidden damage and also no hidden surprises/malfunctions, I'd say you did pretty well for yourself. Congrats on the new ride.

I love A8's.
post some pictures up if you want opinions what you should do to your car..

chipping the engine would be a good option... Audi's also look sick lowered with some rims, that could be an option.

you can go for this look... with 1 size smaller rims.

I still think the D3 A8 is the sexiest car in the class (compared with the same gen S-class and 7 series)

I would love to own a D3 S8 one day :(

^That's a face lifted model.

We did get it for 2004-2005. They are ultra rare though.

and SUPER expensive lol

i used to work on some VAG cars, and every single one of them past 50k leaked.

whether it was a 1.8T or a 2.7TT or their 4.0+L V8's

ooh and with Motul they burn oil :D

I must be the luckiest person on the face of earth. With the exception of my 1992 16V GTI, and the 2000 GTI 8V, none of them leaked/burned oil. I had a APR Stage 2 setup on my 1.8T, and I've never had a single issue with it (minus the brake lights).

my buddy's VR6 and 1.8T didn't' leak either

but depends who drives/takes care of the car, the customers i dealt with didn't really care to check oil levels or use proper viscosity.

do your mechanic friends work on hondas and scream vteccccccccccccccc everytime they ejaculate? sounds like it.... They should stick to repairing hondas and not voice their opinions about cars in general. As with any car that costs $50k+ new, repairs will be more expensive than your average honda. You have to take care of cars, and they will take care of you. I have had 4 differnt Audi's so far, and none of them had any problems. I've had turbo engines, V6 engines, and now i've got one with the 4.2 V8. It doesnt leak, doesnt burn oil, it runs like a clock and will go forever if taken care of. All these "horror" stories you hear about happen because a person buys the car thinking they can treat it like a civic, and then something breaks and is expensive to repair. if they actually maintainted their cars, they wouldnt have any horror stories

no, they work on mercedes, bmw's, porsche, and audis. Infact they dont even like hondas. I guess you are one of the lucky ones then.

What are your opinions on me getting a supercharger for this ride? The only mod I did was some big wheels and SR stickers lol.

i am assuming that you have the 4.2 v8 on your car?
if so, your best bet is to call jhm motorsport and see if they are able to do anything for you.

my friend has a b7 rs4 with a jhm tune. rs4 still in the beta phase, it is one of the best tunes out there. jhm has been extremely successful in tuning the b6/7 s4, as well as the c5 a6. these cars have very similar engines aside from the intake/exhaust manifolds. since there a numerous cars running around with the jhm blower at the moment, i think what you need is just a custom bracket

too bad jhm doesnt get enough recognition like other big name companies like apr, revo, giac. these companies provide a great tune for the forced induction engine platform, but they all fail to deliver when it comes to NA engines. in fact, the tuner for jhm is an engineer at ford svt, so he has a lot more resources when it comes down to tuning an engine and making performance parts for it(intake manifold, headers and stuff). thats why jhm is well ahead of its competitors in this game.

when apr first came out with their supercharger for the rs4, the cars were running mid-high quarter mile times. mind you, the stock rs4 run 12.8-12.9 in stock. so a guy who has the kit brought the car to the jhm tuner(SVT guy). the tuner rewrote the tune and guess what, the car is running 12.0. apr then looked at the tune with the permission from SVT guy and "adapted" it to their current tune.

i hope i dont sound like a endorsement guy working for jhm. i just think jhm is such an underdog, they are not getting enough exposure. jhm always acquire their own car for testing purposes and test them for extended period of time to see where the limit is at. they have blown at least 3 engines just trying to figure out what the safe limit is for a stock engine with a blower on.

shoot me a pm if you have any questions. it would be epic to see a jhm tuned a8. i think it would be the first as well

EDIT: Fix typo

Sick modz bro.

And unless I'm mistaken, the RS6 was never sold in North America, so good luck getting your hands on one.

Nice car and yes, good deal! Just have money on the side ready for repairs. Audi's seem to have some mechanical issues sooner than never.

True, we did get the C5 RS6, but you posted an image of the C6 RS6, which we did not get. Also referred to it as the 4 door Gallardo. The C5 RS6 doesnt have the 5.0 V10 though, it has Audi's 4.2.

The jump in performance is pretty big between the C5 and C6, nothing really quite equals the C6 over here.

I'm surprised you didn't do a search online to find out the potential problems of the car BEFORE you bought it, regardless of what car it was....

These things are usually bullet proof. Usually.

Leaks? Depends where. Could be valve cover gaskets to diff seals..
