Two very interesting articles about Toyota and how they have messed a few things up in the past few years.

"growth at any cost!"

On the other hand, Mr. Toyoda seems like he's a real car enthusiast. Maybe we'll see the resurrection of the MR2, Celica, and Supra? Sadly, the sportiest Toyota these days is the Matrix XRS.

LFA ?

ISF?

I agree with both;

But LFA is limited production, we'll be lucky if we ever see one.

ISF is a fast sedan, but no sports car. Sorry, anything with four doors isn't a sports car in my books.

You've never heard of the term "Sports Sedan"? C63 AMG? M3 Sedan? CSX Type S? Lan Evo? STi (before the awful hatch)?

I've been saying Toyota's been slipping for years as they crept their way up to the top. I rent a lot of cars and have noticed their build quality slipping over the years. Nobody gets to the top without cutting corners!

General rule of thumb... if it has more than 2 doors and more than 2 seats then it's not a sports car. Most have open tops but not really necessary.

No, sporty and sports car are two different things but he's right, it's the sportiest thing they sell right now.

Toyota was trying to get to the top, then it can go back to doing what it does best, making boring slow but bulletproof cars.

If anything their PR has been doing a great job not to do anything at all so the general consumers (i.e. people outside RS) thinks that Toyota is the most logical buy with no frills and no fuss.

they may have crappier interior over the years but they still work pretty much like clockwork. And that's what people want.
