just to clarify, it wasnt the owners fault, the parts guy gave him the wrong threaded lug nuts, so this shouldnt be considered a fail.

if the lug nut is wrong, it won't thread on properly. What happen is after a turn, it'll become tight. So the only way that could happen is the owner kept going with the lug nut with a big wrench, and unthreaded all the threading by forcing the wrong threaded lug nut on his car. which resulted in his epic fail.
