Can't believe it's $370,000. Would rather buy an Italian super-car for that money.

This car is worth 120k max. I mean, who in the right mind would pay 350k US for this when you can get a Ferrari or Lambo?
and... it makes the GTR look even better, cosmetically speaking.
I think Toyota fucked this one up big time.

Thanks for ruining my 0 fail profile, assholes.
TIMPO, thanks for being the ultimate douche for failing someone in your thread for no reason what so ever. Did I fail your original post? No.

I would pay for this car if I had the money.
In fact I actually prefer Japanese over Italian for the same money.
think about it..what does Italian really mean to you anyways?
the Japanese are know for their precision and mechanical designs...nothing wrong with paying for this piece of art.

Think about how much money and time it takes to develop this car.

Dear GTR Fanboi;
This car would actually cost closer to $500K with all the R&D and cost of materials etc. Probably even more if you include the cost of building the CF weaving machine that was made to manufacture some of the parts.
Explain how the GTR is even CLOSE to this in terms of looks? Have you looked at the lines, and the attention to every detail?
This car, is reminiscent of the Toyota 2000GT which is still a timeless design to this day.

Haters can hate, but don't compare this to a GTR. The GTR turns profits; this car was made to showcase the best of Toyota, and it has. This is a showcase car, not a everyman's car who can afford it.

sigh... haters? FanBOI? you guys need to get your heads out of the gutter. Your opinion is no better than anyone else's, so why be all defensive when someone doesn't agree with you? You love the car? Great. Well I don't, but don't flame me because I don't like the same thing as you do.
Fucking RS kids these days. IC > RS, always been, and always will be even if it's not around anymore.

What I should've said was "This car is so ugly that even the GTR looks good next to it", meaning, the GTR is already pretty bad, but this thing takes the cake for function over form in its exterior design. Gonna flame me for having an opinion? Go ahead.
Guys, don't get me wrong, the technology and design that go into making this car is amazing, but to price it over Ferraris, Lambos, Aston Martins, Porsches - sorry, wrong move.
If Toyota's intention was to build an ultimate dream/badass sports car, then this car's exterior design is too soft/not unique enough/not aggressive enough to be in that exclusive club of super cars.
again, just an opinion, but if you guys want to fail someone for disagreeing with you, go right ahead. Why don't you fail every post in this forum that disagrees with your opinion instead?

but the price tag is quite a bit , i'd rather get a lambo

I think most buyer already got Ferrari & Lambo.
And, this is the first Japaense "prestige supercar" since maybe NSX.
GT-R doesnt count cuz its not rare.
To sum up, I think this car is build for collectors.
So u guys should stop arguing lol.
This isn't a consumer product so price shouldn't even be an issue.

back in the IC days, I barely recall any serious discussions on cars. wasn't it mostly just us farking around making fun of Omid and Farhan's mom? :p
I sorta agree on the pricing. I personally think this car should be priced around 200k. but the current pricetag will probably give more rarity to owning such a beast. if only I could win the lottery...

Just getting tired of repeatedly hearing "If I had xxxx money, I'd buy Ferrari/Lambo instead."
First of all, I bet Toyota doesn't give a fuck about it because first they definitely can expect comments like that coming out from people who will perhaps in their life never come close to ever affording such a car. Even selling at the price they specified, they aren't making any profit out of it.
Second, people buying this LF-A, I highly doubt they'd care much forking out 375k for a car. They will probably already have other exotics in their garage anyway.

That car is ugly. All 500 are sold (leased) because of its rarity, which also further pumps its value. European supercars priced higher than the LF-A at least hold prestige coming from names that have only produced supercars - e.g. Bugatti, Pagani, Lamborghini. If you were in London and saw this car next to a Pagani, it'd still be just a "Toyota" at the end of the day.
For the record, I'd much rather use that $370k? to feed Pho to all of RS for several years instead E.g:

The car is an engineering exercise, like the Veyron. They sell these cars at huge losses and can charge any price they damn please because they will limit the production quantities. They want to make sure that the cars land in the hands of the rich so they are collected and looked after for decades. They don't want to sell it to some fan boi.
I would also argue that Nissan loses money on the GTR, though they claim they make money. Looking at the development time, the unique parts and chassis, and the limited production volume, they may recover variable costs but not the fixed costs or initial development costs.
Porsche is probably the only car maker that knows how to make lots of money on sports cars.

Alot of people didnt want to pay 90K for a NSX cause in the end its still a Honda, same deal here except its 370K for a Toyota.
