T&T would be your best bet. Superstore sometimes have some pretty good deals. Dont get it from Save on or Safeway they are a rip off.

t&t has them on sale for 10.99, and thats when they are on sale.

my mom gets them from a friend of hers that delivers seafood to chinese restaurants.

You seriously never heard of safeway and save on foods? They are everywhere.

Other than that TNT is a good place to buy lobster, there is one in Metrotown and Yohan mall in richmond

The best quality ones are on Granville Island, specifically Lobster Man. The T&T crabs & lobsters are not very good.

Lobster Man on Granville Island (NOT at the public market)

yeah, heard the lobster man on granville island will probably have the highest quality ones, price wise unsure as T&T will probably beat it on price. but quality, the lobster man.

The stuff @ the public market are garbage, and insanely overpriced..

Lobster Man and Steveston for sure..

LoL, what? Most, if not all of the public market shops get their shellfish from Lobster Man and the prices are standardized across the board. The prices are fine for the quality. Sure, there are some bad ones in the mix, but it's rare.

...and why Steveston?? That's the last place I'd go to buy lobster.

Bump for an old thread.

I was in the mood for Lobsters and bought a few from Superstore.. they were $6 each and were a bit over a 1lb each.

Looking in this read I found out about Lobsterman and went on their websites..

http://www.lobsterman.com/catalog/13

Atlantic Lobster Quarters 1.25lbs $25.00
Atlantic Lobster Halves 1.50lbs $30.00
Atlantic Lobster Selects 2lbs $35.00

That's an insane price difference.. to those who've had lobsters from there.. is it worth the price premium?

TnT best best. steveston and granville are expensive. richmond public market is super cheap but not always have them. They have crabs for $2.99 a lb but they're missing a claw. I dont really care about the extra cuz cuz i like the body meat better anyway so it's a steal for me, pick up a large crab for $7 and have myself a dinner lol.

I know this killer recipe for lobster/crab. Cream sauce. I remember having it at Sun Sui Wah when i was younger and decided 1 day to make it. First try and got the taste down pat haha.

first you melt some butter, then saute half a diced onions, and a bit of ginger and garlic. THrow in the cut up lobster and fry for a bit until half cooked. then season with some salt + pepper and add in a teaspoon of rice wine if you have and simmer for another 30 secs. Finally pour in half a litre of cream and reduce until thick. Add more butter if you like but i dont like it too rich.

enjoy

When I went to PEI last year this lady I met ate too much lobster in her lifetime she ended up developing a lobster allergy. Too much iodine or something?

That's a rich man allergy I'd say!

Lobsters were $6 a pound there.
