Is there such a thing?
I found myself with a bunch of old HDD I no longer use anymore.
I kinda just put them in a bag and inside the motherboard boxes, and they get thrown around quite a bit when I am moving or cleaning things around the house.

So i thought if they have some sort of HDD enclosure that can take multiple HDD (instead of just 1), it would be a perfect way to store and retrieve data from the old HDD.

Does anything like that exist?
P.S. I guess what I am looking for is kinda like a NAS system, but without the network capability and hopefully a lot cheaper.

You could get something like this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822155009). Expect to pay $150-200 for what you're looking for.

Note that once a hard drive is over 5 years old, it should no longer be considered 100% dependable.

i thought about this and looked at the mediasonic enclosures, nas etc.

then i realize when i get a new computer i'll just use my old box as a server. something like 4x 2TB. WHS or linux or watever.

x2, I'm using and older p4 with Windows Media Center loaded with 2 1tb hdds

I could have went with some version of MythTV, but I must have spent (at a minimum) 3 weeks trying to get myth to work with my box and remote. It took me less than 6 hours to get my windows box to recognize all my hardware and be up and running.
