To be honest I don't see the point of an RS food critic when there are so many wonderful Vancouver food blogs out there. I know if I were to become an RS critic I would only be revisiting places mentioned on local blogs and adding my own opinion. I also don't see what sort of benefits there are to being the RS food critic besides RS infamy :p . Now that I think of it, I can't afford to eat out enough to be the RS food critic lol.

Some good local food blogs for anyone interested:

I'm Only Here For The Food (best one: updates every two days, quality photos, focus on casual dining) (http://imonlyhereforthefood.com/)
Sherman's Food Adventures (http://www.shermansfoodadventures.com/)

so the rs website is getting a makeover?

RS will get a makeover soon enough. We are assembling a top notch team together.

And of course, there are other food bloggers out there. Each with their own personality.

But we want our very own personality to represent RS. And depending on how good you are and how well you market yourself, you just might be the next celebrity around town. So yes, infamy will most definitely be part of it :D

Soooo casting call for contestants! Step it up!

No excuses, I see numerous posts and threads with detailed pictures in this Food and Fine Dining forum.. you know who you are! Yeah you!

I'll vote for Jlo Mein!!!

His Ramen shootout made me drive all the way to downtown just to try Benkei.
Also this Miki Ramen place on kingsway and royal oak wasn't as good as others.
It's run by Mainlanders too.

You should post your thoughts on Miki Ramen in the Ramen thread. I was going to visit it the other day but ended up downtown so I went to Benkei instead. FYI I'm not applying to the RS food critic position since I don't eat out enough, and I tend to eat at the same places over and over. :p

Nothing wrong with blogging. However, we have traffic to our website that can take you to a whole, new level. The question is whether or not you want to go there. If you do, or eventually want to make something along the lines of the food industry, e.g. a business, a career... We are presenting a small window of opportunity. They don't come often like this.

And my advice for the day: Don't doubt yourself before you've even tried.

Anyhow, again, this is a last call out for all serious foodies. Please PM.
