I am send about 6 mail-in rebates within the past 2 yrs. I have received a total of 2 rebate cheques ( from corsair and asus)

What are you guys experience? are some of these rebates a marketing tool for you to buy and they never send you money back?

What companies can we trust when they offer rebates? (asus, gigabyte, corsair, ocZ.....etc)

I've gotten my rebates from Corsair, Asus and OCZ. The one from OCZ took almost 6 months, the Asus took 3 and the Corsair took about 4 months.

When I send out the rebate forms I don't 100% expect to get the money back.. which is why I usually choose to buy something that has a decent instant rebate and consider the MIR a 'bonus'.

I have gotten about 9 of my last 10 rebates. The whole process has gotten better in the last couple of months. Everything is done online except for mailing in the UPC barcode & receipt.

I'm about 75% or so on mail-in rebates ...

I don't take MIRs into account when building a PC to meet a certain budget, so if it comes back, it's just a bonus.

It's barely worthwhile completing mail-in rebates. It takes a 98 cent stamp to mail to the USA. You need to make a few photocopies or scans. The whole thing takes me an hour or so to complete. All that for $10 back.

4/4 last time for me. Gigabyte, OCZ, Corsair and EVGA.

I usually mail them and forget about them; if they come back, it's just a bonus.

If the rebate doesn't come within the stated time frame. Give the company a call/email. They usually have a rebate department that deals with this. I've had many encounters of slow/delayed rebates. I just type an email/talk to the customer representatives about it then they usually mail the rebate in through express or something. One encounter I had was when OCZ mailed me two rebate cheques so basically i got the ram for free plus extra money. :lol

same, but they always came months later. OCZ was hard to get though, i had to jump through hoops. i'm done w/ MIR's too much work than it's worth
