The Harper brothers Charlie and Alan are almost opposites but form a great team. The whole point of the show was to watch Jake grow up under the influence of two completely different people, and be amused by Charlie's antics of course. I think it's awesome that we get to see his teenage years now. He was such a dense little fucker early on in the show.
