So who else was stuck in that chaos during the closure of the Alex Fraser bridge?
I work downtown..left at 2:30pm.. got home at.. .. .. 6:24pm. / North Delta.
I took a detour and got off the main hwy onto a muddy pathway that linked up to the queensborough exit .. felt my TL shocks bottom out on all 4 wheels.. thought I F*cked up the car big time.. but she's riding fine so far. sounded like a gun going off when they bottomed out.

Took you that long? My wife works in Burnaby and usually takes the Alex Fraser, she got off at 4:00 and got to our house in Langley at 5:05 taking Hwy 1. You gotta listen to the radio and alter your route when necessary.
Edit: Lol at root = route.

Missed a class last night, was stuck after queensboro before the Alex Fraser.. Usually there's slight bump to bumper traffic but it moves, didn't check 730 until I was too late.
I took a few pics, but the quality is very bad that it doesn't show the extent of the congestion.
Apparently a semi went up in flames, a van flipped on its side, and a small passenger car as well. RIP.
Saw a helicopter view on the news last night. They said the fire was quite big and initial fear was that it could compromise the safety of the bridge. That and the investigation were the reasons to shut down North bound traffic.

Took my brother and I 2 hours to go from Richmond to Burnaby last night. Unfortunately my car's radio doesn't work (antenna snapped off or it's stuck inside... can't remember) and the am730 website traffic alerts were down so I couldn't look at them on my phone.
It sucked major ass.

I took Knight St into richmond and took the Alderbridge exit, that exit was all backed up because Hwy 99 was so jammed. I heard on the radio that it was backed up from the Massey tunnel to Oak St Bridge.

that's what you get when there's only 2 main routes (1 lane at Massey and 3 lanes at Alex Fraser) connecting the two fastest developing regions together!

Pattullo and Queensborough will give you similar effect actually.
