Anybody watching this new series? Caught the first 2 episodes so far and I like it so far. Yes it's kind of a clone of 300 with the fighting style and all but I can care less. If you like shiet based on gladiators, fighting, and titties then check it out. Quite a few titties shown already lol.

This show follows the life of Rome’s most famous gladiator as he’s betrayed by his country, beaten into slavery and returns as a warrior. It’s the ultimate story of someone whose spirit cannot be broken.

I saw the first episode when it aired. It was OK, not as good as Rome by any means (which I loveeeed, 10/10!). It is very stylistic, like 300, but much cheaper looking and not as well done. I hope it pics it up a bit and starts to establish a better story…right now it just kind of jumped around, and didnt get into much detail about anything.
7/10 max Id say, so far.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but there is TOO MUCH PORN IN THIS.

I mean, you can't have too much porn but c'mon, if that's what you're after, THEN JUST MAKE PORN THEN. The sex seems to come at random times (...lul) and is often unnecessary for the show. I mean, they might as well have made porn.

Fight sequences seem poorly choreographed and just incredibly fake. 300 was guilty of looking fake but this just takes the CG way too far. It looks cheap.

But whatever...it's already been renewed for season 2. If you're looking for soft porn, go ahead and watch it. If you want a real story, go either actual Spartacus or Rome. Rome is awesome.

ummm… 300 was not guilty of being fake…that is to say, they were not going for realism…they were going for dark, comic book style (as that is where it came from)

This spartacus show however, is just fake, but trying to be stylistic.

Alright, to be honest, I thought this show would be horrible when I watched the first two episodes. I thought it was an excuse for softcore porn and CG violence.

However, in the five episodes since, it has improved immensely. You care about the characters and you hate the villains. The CG has vastly improved, although that isn't saying much and the fight sequences are now very good.

And...well, it is awesome to see with the crowd chanting his name, the main character shout "I...AM...SPARTACUS!!!!"

Rome is still a much better series, though.

At first glance I didn't really enjoy the CG (some of then were really just pushing it), but the plot was very engaging to say the least.

I just finished the first season, and I can't wait for a sequel depicting the actual slave wars.
The rumored prequel will be worth watching too.

Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) is dropping out of Season 2, due to the recurrence of cancer.

In case you weren’t already aware, lead actor Andy Whitfield has dropped out of the Starz epic series Spartacus: Blood and Sand in order to receive more treatment for his Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It’s been up in the air as to whether or not the series would simply come to an end, or if Whitfield would be replaced, but now EW brings word that Starz is moving forward with the series and re-casting his role. Who’s strapping on the sandals? Apparently Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has expressed interest in taking over the titular role of the series. Since Fox’s prison escape series ended, Miller hasn’t done anything on television, so now would be a good time to make his return. A bit disappointing the Whitfield isn’t returning under the circumstances so we wish him well and hope for a quick recovery. We’ll keep you posted as this story develops. What do you Spartacus fans think of Wentworth Miller in the role?
