Anybody have experience with a trade-in value that is worth more than the car to be purchased? The car that i want to trade in is worth about $5000 to $10000 more than the car I want, thanks.

Yes. You get a cheque. That is if they want to take the car in. I've done it before (I sell...). We just give the cust a cheque of the difference.

Or sell your car privately, then buy the car you want.
Dealers aren't going to pay the retail value of your car.
