When I watch HD movies (>4 GB) on my TV from my laptop using my HDMI cable, it sometimes speeds up or is choppy for brief periods of time. What could cause this? Can I change settings on my laptop to enhance the performance? The laptop is a HP Pavilion dv7 with a GE Force 9600MGT

if your playing .mkv files then you might not have the proper codecs to play it. try installing haali media splitter and see if its still choppy
