Has to be low enough to not clear the rollers.
Test pipe = NO
Get some studded tires on your drive wheels.

I am also worried of them riding the shit out of my clutch, stalling my car, etc.
Nothing you can do and besides, it's not for that long and it's not like they're going to destroy your clutch and transmission instantly. Calm down. It's just part of the game and you have to play it if you want to drive.

What year is your car? If it's 96+, then it's OBD2... and they just plug into the diagnostic port now. No driving test, unless one of the monitors is not set.

I had straight pipe turboback, Megasquirt, no Aircare map, relatively low car, it was an 82 with unknown mileage on the block. I passed with flying colours, stop bitching.

did I bitch anywhere in my post? it was a legitimate question to which I would like to know the answer
you ran a straight pipe? so you were lucky they didnt do a visual test on your car

I've never seen a visual test done when I've been there. I've gone through with a car that had a terribly leaking exhaust manifold.
Mind you, my car is catylitic converter exempt so that might help.

they usually do a visual test by sliding a mirror utensil under your car. However you may be able to get away with it if hes not paying attention. As for an idle test, if your car is low, they generally would opt for the idle test. You can always ask if they can do an idle test, thats what I did and they were happy to do it for me.
