I'm looking for a new import beer to bring to a party. No ordinary corona, heinekin, etc... I really like hoegaarden and red stripe, but what other beers have you guys tried and loved?

If you like Hoegaarden, you'll love Kronenbourg Blanc. It's a French white beer.

Leffe and Stella. Hoegarden if I can't find the other two. Those three have spoiled me to the point where I can't drink American beer and have turned me off of Canadian beer.

I looove Tiger. BCLC doesn't import them anymore though which ticks me off. Stella's another staple for me, and I love Hoeegarden.
A good microbrewery beer is Crystal Mountain from WA.

Once in a while, I like Pilsner Urquell. I was lucky to try it straight from the source during my visit in the Czech Republic last year and goes very well with meat dishes.
However, I cut down on having any alcoholic beverages significantly, I've lost my taste for beers as of late. :(

Blue Moon is marketed as Rickard's White in Canada
Various Asahi Sku's are produced in Vancouver
Tiger beer was pulled from BC stores because of inefficient demand

awesome suggestions. thanks!
I've tried that gulden draak. it's so thick and sweet. It's good, but I do like lighter beers.
Also, I have an unrelated question, but don't want to start a new thread.
My friend's having a birthday party where he's booked out a small restaurant.
A couple of us wanted to bring in a stripper as his birthday gift. What sort of legal issues/problems might we be facing. Also, we know the owners, so we don't want to get them in trouble.

Czechvar is awesome. Very crisp clean beer.
November:
I believe that as long as the owner closes the restaurant off to the general public, it should be okay because afterall, such an event is taking place on "private property."

Honestly, it depends on what you're doing. I prefer Asahi Dry with sushi or teppanyaki; that shit is dope.

Bumping this thread.
Started to get back into building my palate for beer. Recently had some Pisner Urquell, Krušovice, and Czechvar. I decided to play it safe for the time being to try a case of Beck's. Looking to see any new favourites have popped up for you guys. :)

actually i bought my dad a book for x-mas a while ago it was called "100 beers before you die", it's a neat look that tells u the history of the beer company, the taste/why it's to die for & a little note section for u drop down what u feel from your mouth to words

i goto prague quite often...and i still don't enjoy pilsner urquell when i have a choice....its too acidic....Budvar/czechvar and staropramen (they sell staro here???), even Gambrinus are all great tho.
haven't had a krusovice in a while....

Innis and Gunn - Oak Aged (the black box)
Hoegaarden
Old Speckled Hen
And Guiness, but much preferred from a tap.
Only place I've had a good pour is from the irish pub @ whistler.
Are there any local pubs that can do it right?
Heineken and Ashahi is all I drink now.

I don't drink beer at all but I went to the Dominican a couple years back and their #1 beer is Presidente. My father is a huge beer drinker and he just loved it. I'm really surprised no one hasn't said anything about it yet.
