Who Wants to Join Me in Olympic Protests?

Ha, I knew that'd get people in here....
Seriously, I'd like to get a bunch of guys together, go to a protest organizing meeting to "sign up", go with them to the protest and when the shit starts....
Watch them freak out when they're getting the smackdown from the "new guys" :)
Who's in?

Actually, now that I think about it...this is the wrong way to approach this. Beating the fuck out of them will just give them what they want...attention. INSTEAD, let me propose this...
We find out where they are protesting next...and walk in there celebrating our asses off, wearing the Bay red mittens (and other Olympic gear), drinking Coke, yelling "RBC REEEEEEMIX!", and pretty much IGNORING THEM.
THAT, my friends, will piss them right off so that when they take the first swing...we'll be able to lay the smack down without legal trouble.

There would have to be a VERY large group in order for that to not become a dangerous situation. Look at what they were doing to people downtown that were simply wearing olympic gear.

only thing is, you need about 4x as many people as they have come out. then you can drown them out easily with cheering.
another problem is, people here WORK and don't just sit downtown all day. would be hard to corral enough people =(

Were they randomly attacking supporters, or only the ones that talked back?

Like I mentioned in another thread:
Anyone who supports the Olympics works for a living.
Most people who are protesting are on welfare.

I've heard both. It's on the clip that's on CTV's website though.

Can we form a protest to protest against the protesters?

How many protesters does it take to change a light bulb?
None because THEY CANT CHANGE ANYTHING.
Said it in another thread already, I don't want to repeat the above.

But they changed the torch route! lol
They way to protest would be to not buy anything with an Olympic logo, don't eat anywhere supporting the Olympics, etc... Which is what I've been doing, not going around smashing stuff but the fact that a thread like this exists means they're winning. Best to just ignore them.
Interesting to have an outside view being in Hawaii right now. All the media (CNN, BBC, local news, etc) is focused on here right now is the torch lighting failure and the luge track death. Very little on the competitions themselves. It's gonna be pretty sad if this is the impression left on the world. I hope Vancouver media is focused on the games themselves.
Man, if I saw an innocent bystander being physically attacked by some coward POS protestor... I don't care about the potential consequences to myself I would absolutely go to that persons aid. A swift kick to the back of the leg at the knee is all it would take. Even if I didn't blow the knee right out that person won't be walking without pain for the rest of the Olympics. I'd like to see them try and actively participate in one of their protests again after that.
Any protestor that attacks people or vandalizes property instantly loses any credibilty and all respect I have for them, even if at a fundamental level I might agree with a portion of their cause. Those people are nothing but cowards and hooligans who rely on safety in numbers.

Of course we can't go down there and start violence against the protestors.
But I bet if people were being honest, most would love to see them get a good beating - they just can't say it in public cuz you'll look bad.
Anyone who has ever been a victim of vanadlism knows the shitty, sinking feeling of coming home and seeing your car or house smashed up. Another thing I'd like to see - find out where their headquarters or offices are and go ransack them. Flip over a couple of their own personal vehicles. Let them see what it feels like to be the victim of vandalism.

Im sure CTV has spun the story to much more than it is to give these bastards the attention they need. Twitter updates or even going to see the protests for yourselves woulda been better than watching national news who spin for entertainment purposes

That... actually isnt a bad idea..
Go to their protest and secretly start to drop those fart bombs around them. or collect dog shit in a bag and walk into their crowd and start randomly dropping it..
I bet the cops would be laughing their asses off if they knew what you were doing..

why are protesters so proud to voice their opinions yet hide/mask their faces? Shame and pride oxymoron?

my wife just suggested that instead of the billy clubs that the cops had, they should have been swinging socks full of quarters at them. :haha:

Protesting just raises costs because of the city having to send out more police officers.
Give it a rest buddy, protesting isn't going to do shit.

Did you guys see the video of that innocent man who look like he was in his 40's been attached by 3 scumbag protesters? They knocked him down, punched and kicked him for no reason and quickly ran away when the media came.
Okay, so after a the first weekend of the Olympics, I've come to the conclusion that protesters really aren't even remotely a concern.
Primarily because everyone who has come to DT has pretty much absorbed the Olympic-Canadian pride. I'm very very very very very very certain that any anti-Olypmic movement will come off as anti-nationalistic and antagonize the current masses who are now drunk on Canadian pride; (especially even moreso after winning our first gold, ultra moreso when mens olympic hockey rolls around).
No protesters will have the balls to fuck with that. Honestly, over the weekend, they really didn't make that much noise in comparison to those who wanted to celebrate the Olympics. It made the Hudson Bay Glass breaking incident seem feeble.

It's absolutely fine to want your voice to be heard but when you start using unnecessary methods to do so, most people would likely not want to hear what you have to say cuz your image and reputation has been tarnished.

:haha::haha: lol sounds like an interesting idea
I don't really see why people shot protest the Anti-Olympics. People should just party more like they did this weekend and that's more than enough protest against the Anti-Olymics movement; and not to mention contributing to the local economy. Living in DT, I swear, any businesses in the hospitaly industry looks like they're making a killing right now.

I think one of the "protesters" took a hammer to the window.
To be fair, I don't think most of the protesters are the ones stirring up shit, breaking windows and vandalizing property. It's the anarchist scum that go around to protests and stir up shit and use the protest as an excuse.
I'm all for people voicing their opinions if they don't feel something is right. It's their right to do so. However, they should do whatever they can to distance themselves from the troublemakers though so that they don't use them as a front to cause more trouble.
