Anyone subscribe to magazines?

This is a question specifically towards GQ magazines through this link here
https://w1.buysub.com/pubs/N3/GQM/in...e_key=I2HNT7CU
Is there anyone else that has subscribed? Just curious on if this is really what it says since it seems too good to be true at this price. There must be some drawback such as extra spam? delayed deliveries? hidden costs/penalties for cancellation?

$20 for 12 ($1.70 each)
Compared to purchasing it locally at $5 each.

Any insight is appreciated.

Generally speaking, magazine subscriptions are usually cheaper than buying it on the stands. They usually jack up the price at renewal time, but it'd still be cheaper than buying them monthly.

I've subscribed to maxims.
The renewal price is not as good, but you can always go online and start a new subscription for the original price.
GQ sucks, its 80% ads.

Doesn't sound that weird, Sports Illustrated was stupid cheap when I first signed up as well. I think it was around $30 for a year (weekly magazine) and I got a Minnesota Vikings windbreaker as well.

Thanks for the insight guys, so there's no real drawbacks? Mostly just worried about hidden costs.

For the people that said GQ sucks ( I've only bought 3 and I found them relatively interesting ), what other magazine do you suggest that would be better and along the same lines?

Details (same price as GQ)? Esquire?

I subscribe to GQ and Pop Photo.

for GQ you get redirected to a Canadian site, where the cost is $20, and you don't get no gift.
