Crab balls are always dope. I actually really like the first dish, the one with a variety of stuff especially the jelly fish which is my favorite. When the rock cod comes out it's pretty sick too although you don't get too many pieces.

I think the smaller the number, the bigger the size.
So 1 head is bigger than 2 heads

Basically the unit of measurement is 斤, which is ~ 600 grams. 1 head means there's 1 abalone in 1 斤. 2 head means 2 in 1 斤, which means 300 grams each, so on & so forth.
I love shark fin soup and the crab balls too

I always enjoy it when the steamed fish comes out, or the chicken if it is really good.
It's funny though, those crab claws and noodles are among my least favourite :lol

I like the rice dish on top right side with tomato sauce with meat and other side with cream and shrimp. I forgot what is it called but it is good.
I like hot and sour and shark's fin soup.

You mean this rice?

It's the Ying Yang rice or some places call it the lovers rice or something along those lines haha. Either way in chinese it's called Yeen Yerng Chow Fan.
The one thing about banquet dinners I find is the chicken is always so sketchy. Sometimes it's dope and sometimes it sucks badly.

^^ That is so true. But when you go to a good restaurant and the chicken is good, it is really good. Like "the perfect example of chicken" good

Yeah that's the one! Thanks.
That's true. Honolulu is pretty nasty. It had MSG, I felt sick after.
But Angel Cake House is good imo!

Werd. When I was younger I used to always look forward to the chicken but not anymore as I got disappointed way too many times. But yes when it's good it's damn good haha. There almost seems to be no middle ground with it though =\

I don't get what the big deal about abalone is, and I would never pay the huge cash restaurants ask for it

Same as shark fin soup: It's super expensive, so whoever is paying the bill gets a super amount of face.

I absolutely hate eating these crab balls. They remain steaming hot for an unbelievably long time. I always end up burning myself trying to eat it.

I'd say crab balls or the fried crispy skin chicken (if the meat is still juicy) are my faves.
I remember for my wedding reception, I took 1 bite out of my crab ball, then someone asked us to take a picture or something. When I came back, the waiter had already cleared my plate!

Heh agreed. I always make an effort to split them open to cool down, which is hard with a pair of chopsticks.

Yeah man, at banquets its hard to open them and still look respectable doing it. If I want to open it I have to cave in and use my chopsticks like a 5 year old with one stick in each hand, prying the crab ball open like a monkey.
haha, the crab balls and the cold cuts "appetizer" are my favourites...but that may be because they're the first dishes to come out and I'm usually super hungry at the time. After about the 5th or 6th course, I'm too stuffed to eat anything else. I usually pass on the noodles and rice since it's just filler food at that point and I don't have any room for it. :D
