This video shows an operational cutaway of a BMW S1000RR — a 193HP superbike — bumping against its 14,200RPM redline. A cam and valvetrain at 118 cycles per second is an amazing sight (and sound). (H/T to Chris!)

wow that's just amazing, it's still hard to believe that the thin valves can go up and down so fast without breaking.

You need a slowmo cam to capture the cams. Cause by the time they go that fast they basically "don't move".

i was wondering about the same thing, and im guessing yes its normal, the spring isnt binding up anywhere, and its perfectly balanced.
