Z, ZZ, Char's Counterattack were few of my favourites and this newest addition fills in some of the missing time between the earlier productions. Set before F91 and V gundam but 3 years after Char and Amuro's supposed death and disappearance from trying to push Axis away, with their psychoframe-equipped MS.

Unicorn has full psychoframe and also NT-D ...

another nice note is the cannon fodders. In particular I like the design of the RGZ-95 ReZEL as it basically is the bastard child of Z-Gundam and the Methuss. Spec-wise they are better than Re-Gz from CCA (that thing was weak) and also the ZETA Pluses from Sentinel, which is again another need-to-be-animated-piece. I noticed there are different colored visors for the ReZELS and the correlation seem to be this : Commander type RGZ 95C has green visors versus red for the normal spec RGZ-95, and also C types carry mega beam launcher over the shoulder instead of standard beam rifle.

Jegans are still around and getting pwned though :lol although the Stark Jegan sorta redeemed the reputation for all Jegans until it got pwned (pilot error). New Neo-Zeon Gearas plus the upcoming MSN-06S (familiar red suit with 6S designation). The token evil masked man is back, and with a RIDICULOUS name this time.

It is because I enjoy, or enjoyed in the past, watching the series. However, far too many of the same themes are rehashed over and over again.

And come on, kids talking about ideals? What the hell does a kid know? How naive do they think they are to lecture us about the world? How naive are the writers?

You know, I realize some of you guys can just shut off parts of your brain and enjoy the show for whatever it is, and that's great, but I can't anymore. After watching 3 Gundam series', these things start to become too glaringly obvious to ignore for me. The completely ludicrous thing is I seem to be apart of the minority.

I know anime writers can produce quality shows. Just look at Ghost in the Shell.

Are there any Gundam series without one of those? All those things are signature Gundam... If anything they need to simplify the political garbage. I admit the last several Gundams were terrible. Either make it serious/realistic like the original UC or make it light hearted and funny like G Gundam.

By the way, ALL recent (last decade or so) anime is about some 16 year old kid saving the world.

This is a OVA series, I think...so it'll take awhile.

Also, this is a whole new level of animation, IMO...so I'm not surprised it'll take awhile. The differences aren't noticeable at first but the detail is quite advanced.

Also, having a love story in Gundam isn't terrible as long as it is done correctly. 08th MS is one of the best series and it had a whole Romeo and Juliet thing going on.

The overall first episode gave me the feeling of Gundam F91 when it was released long time ago in theatres overseas. (the Loto/special forces transformable Guntank was the pre-production model for the R44 guntank found in F91)

yes, Hyaku Shiki (Type 100), despite having countless fans for it was actually a failed project :lol and the AEUG made it iconic along with Zeta Gundam. In fairness, both were deemed prototype models.

I also managed to get a hold of one of these...they also made a Unicorn in 7-11 variant, and the Psychoframe glow is in mountain dew green.
