lol that really is some pathetic equipment used for a paid wedding photo shoot
damn that defendant was really ugly and what a bitchy attitude I'd love to punch her in the face >.<
EDIT:
Lol I'm not a wedding photographer but i'd imagine the 70-300 on the Xti wouldn't be very useful no?
LOL
"these aren't gonna be the sharpest in the world if they are enlarged"
"those are enlarged!"
lmfao...
and there are no pics of the inside of the church >.<
it looks like the bitch has some food stuck between her teeth and is trying to get it out the whole time
LOL watched it a few times
the pro photogs got showed up by a black man in a robe... OWNED!

bitch deserved it. her stubborness and unprofessionalism is an embarrasement to photographers. Then again, what would you expect when you pay $1300 for a wedding photographer.
Judge Joe Brown is awesome...and a Canon shooter too! I hope that the defendant does advertise themselves anymore. Good on the newlyweds to go after them.

funny video indeed. I feel sorry for the 100's of weddings they supposedly done in the past. The one youtube comment that mentioned the details on the photos really explained a lot of things as to why the photos looked so bad.

For Good or For Awesome?
There's nothing wrong with an XTi, as long as you use the appropriate lenses, which that particular 'photographer' didn't use. I know of a few photographers who have them as back-ups. You'd be surprised how many photographers use Walmart or Costco for prints. The average person wouldn't know the difference between Fuji Crystal Archive paper and Fuji Professional Crystal Archive paper anyway. There are two sides to this story, and the Judge did not hear the defendant out, or let her at least try and defend herself. In the end it was her attitude - one that in a real court would have her sitting in jail for contempt of court.

Yeah, I think XTi is fine. The photog who took my friend's wedding had it as a 3rd backup camera.
But besides the poor choice of lenses, the photographer in question clearly had no idea about some basic photography knowledge. You could tell by when judge Joe asked her what speed was the 70-300 and she had no idea.
She probably thought, hey, I bought a DSLR, I'm a photographer, let's go out and do some busineeessseeeee
That being said, the couple probably should have done a little research. Many pro wedding photographer list their equipment in their resume, when you see only 2 lenses and 1 body, you should know this is not what a real pro will do.

I dont think so. The average person has no idea what zoom ranges or f-stop speed mean at all. To them, an XTi with an 18-55 and a 70-300 might be the same as a 1Dmk3 with a 24-70 f2.8L and a 70-200L. To them, it's just numbers! They just know that photo equipment is expensive and to them, the more you spend, the better the pictures lol

Yes, but I'd expect a pro photog to own a lot of equipments.
I'm not sure about other photog, but the one my friend used (he's fairly famous in LM, won't mention name here for privacy of my frd) his equipment list is almost a page long. And that doesn't include small stuff like stand/flash.. etc. Just camera and lenses.
In their contract, he even listed out the equipments and amount of assistant+car that he would be bringing so the couple can prepare the appropriate parking space and some other small details. But then I think it got something to do with their pricing/insurance policy, because this particular photog can also shoot in MF, but pricing is different. So he maybe listed it to avoid any future problem.

people that know nothing of photography won't know this. most people (myself included) don't know the differences between certain cameras, and you can only shoot one at a time so...

Definitely not the best lenses for the job, but you get what you paid for. The problem is misrepresentation. At what point do you label yourself as a professional? When you own top of the line equiptments? Or when your day job is photography? These people look like they are nothing more than photography enthusists.
You know now that I watched this video for the 10th time, come to think of it I bet a lot of us here with a good point and shoot could've taken similar quality pictures if not better than the ones these "professionals" took
