Anyone knows whats going on with those just south of the vancouver raquet club on the base of queen elizabeth? They have been boarded up for a couple years now.

They're demolishing them so that at some point in time many years into the future when the citizens of Vancouver can afford it even less they're going to build higher density below-market housing.

And because they planned to do that in several years' time, they decided to shut the housing complex down now because it's the government and they never do anything efficiently.

Are you talking about the housing coop that existed bounded by Main st and Ontario St, E 33 and E 37th?

I live 3 blocks from there, and most of them have been non-existent for 2-3 months already. It's a huge swath of land that is supposed to be redeveloped into mixed market/subsidized housing.
