Is it a 2D barcode?
Black and white is fine.
Don't rag on the guy for not knowing or not filing it electronically... I work at CRA and there are hundreds of thousands of people that drop them off and mail them in...

From my past experience, it only took me about 10 minutes during business hours.

Because I end up losing the NETFILE paper every year, I plug the code in as a phone number entry on my cell. Problem solved!

You can look it up online on "My Account" or call them for it! Very quick and easy!

yay, got my tax refund back $1200 Bitches!@
How do I file taxes? I never filed them for my first job because they didn't get my social insurance number... And for my T4 I didn't get deducted because I didn't make enough. Do I still have to file?

I would say File it, because you can work the system and get back GST every quarter and a free 400 bucks.

Should I bring it in to someone to file it or file it myself?

Well, technically you're the lucky one because you're not giving the government an interest free loan. Those of us who get a refund overpaid the government and they're just giving back the extra we paid. (obviously without interest)

sent mine using netfile this year.. and its fast. took about 7 days to get my refund. sending it by mail is way too slow imo
Got my refund within a week too via Netfile and direct deposit...that's pretty quick compared to other years. $4200 refund. I really need to figure out how to adjust the amount of tax they're taking so I break even. I'd rather have the money in my pocket now than wait till the end of the year for it. That works out to an extra $175 every paycheck!

Are you getting the big refunds because of deductions such as RRSP contributions?

I do max out my RRSPs, but I think the bulk of they overpayment probably comes from my bonuses. The taxes they pull out of that end up being close to 40% of the bonus cheque.

Well if you're close to 6 figures, then they're suppose to take about 40%.
