Whether she's "amazing" is subject to personal opinion, sure she's talented, but she's also creating music for the masses - aka. over-produced, mind-numbing garbage, with huge over-indulgent shows; none of it has any real substance. Take a look at the lyrics for any of her songs that get radio play - they're less then impressive.

Why do you think she does all that crazy shit? She's completely aware of her place in disposable pop music, and is milking it for it's worth... It's a whole meta-inside-joke for her, she is mocking herself and pop music in general. Not like 90% of "indie" bands out there with a falsely inflated sense of self worth from their music's perceived artistic merit.

She KNOWS her music is stupid; in interviews she often has a backhanded-mocking attitude to her fans and interviewers, as if they were so stupid to eat this shit up. As Jay-Z says: "I dumb down for my audience and double my profits."
