edit: this actually aired in canada last year by discovery channel apparently (narration was by attenborough), but this US discovery channel one is done by oprah lmao.

Looks like an awesome series. I caught the Reptile and Amphibians episode yesterday on TV and think I do prefer David Attenborough's narration over Oprah's.
p.s. Komodo dragons are so bad ass haha

Definitely Attenborough > Oprah. I love ep4, the ocean one. I always liked the water related one, like that other BBC documentary which the name escapes me right now but it was like Blue, or Deep Blue, or something like that.

I caught an episode on Discovery and it was Attenborough.

I really hope Oprah Winfrey doesn't become the next Morgan Freeman. That guy is narrating everything now adays.

So this is entirely different from Planet Earth right? If so, then I'll get the Box set. I already have most if not all the Nature series in Blu Ray(Planet Earth, Ganges, Wild China, etc etc).

bumping a half year old thread
finally got a chance to watch this..in HD of course.
felt the episodes that i originally had least interest in turned out to be my favourite ones (plants and primates)
seeing the behind-the-scenes to understand how much production value, attention to details and patience it took to film was an experience on its own
i enjoyed it more than planet earth...must own if you have a blu-ray player...worth every penny! (that's if you get the attenborough version of course)

Really, I thought Planet Earth was better.. This one has extremely annoying cartoonish sound effects, that seems to be common in BBC nature documentaries. Planet Earth wasn't as bad

Planet Earth was better, but this is still very high quality television, don't know if I'll buy the box set like I did for PE.
