: Need opinions on foglight bulb colour

Foglights are projectors like this:

http://www.alvielou2001.com/p3184.jpg

Car looks like this:

http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/2051/dscf0606.th.jpg (http://img691.imageshack.us/i/dscf0606.jpg/)
http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/189/dscf0610.th.jpg (http://img682.imageshack.us/i/dscf0610.jpg/)

They will go along the bottom under the two blacked out corner lights, aligned under the headlights (where the headlight meets the grill)

Headlights are at 6000k temperature.

Already looked into the debate about whether 3000k is actually more beneficial in rain and snow etc. I'm ecstatic about both colours which is exactly why I need some extra opinions since I'm on the fence.

2500K Yellow or 6000k white with blue-ish ?

I'm just thinking 2500k might be for more of a race-oriented type car whereas I think mine is more "VIP" style so it should match the headlights at 6000k or.... well completely on the fence lol since I'll be running the fogs as driving lights and I've always wanted the yellow DRL's.

Please help me decide which would look better lol

Thanks guys!

My vote goes to the Yellow ones.

Like you said its more beneficial in the rain and snow. Even though its pretty common, it still looks great and still stands out.

IMO a "VIP" car with yellow foglights is pretty sex. It's like... a car with with class meets a car with style.

Let us know what you decide!

you must.. >9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

naw just joking. yellow will work well with current set up. the oem EL fogs (which i have actually seen in person) are yellow projectors themselves.. so why not? :)

This is the cutoff on these fogs, with a 6000k HID kit though. On HidPlanet, arguably the best set of projectors for its price ( "Blazer" ).

Have high expectations for these fogs even though I'm just going to run halogens for now, which will probably be the yellow 2500k nokya's since every single person has voted yellow except for one sarcastic 10000k lol

DDM 35w 3000k HID's in the blazer fogs that i've ordered. Looks amazing and really pushing me to order the HID's although there's known heating issues with putting HID's in.

You can't tell me that doesn't look good.

Since the projector lens IS clear, next thing I'm contemplating is whether to leave the projector lens clear, or order some lamin-x tint film that will reduce damage (rock chips etc) to the projector lens as well as keep the yellow look even when the bulbs are off.

Should I get the yellow lamin-x film tint?

some ppl had issues using lamin-x tint on their fogs, causing it to melt

i just used 3m clear bra for my fogs

will definitely look into it, has anyone else used 3m clear bra or lamin-x on their fogs? I'm just skeptical because I don't think there will be really that much damage from rock chips to the fogs on Vancouver roads?

well it was cheap since i got a deal on it, reason why is i read numerous ppl on rsx board ppl having issue with their OEM cracked fog light lens down in the states, therefore i took the precaution and wrapped my fogs.

don't use lamin-x I wasted one set of blazers with those

i had yellow lamin-x on my old set of fogs and never had a problem with melting. i put them on for the same reason you want to, to keep the yellow look even when the lights are off.

My fogs were just normal 35w bulbs though, i'm not sure if you'll get problems with HID's.

the whole casing gets really hot on the blazers

on 35w hid mine were heating up so much when rain got on it, it was smoking.
DO NOT put lamix on it

I'm running the 35W DDM 3000K kit too!! There's little to no heat produced when compared to my stock bulbs. I actually ran the Smarteye HID kit before it, and although that one was definately brighter, it ran hot to the touch whereas the DDM kit is cool.

I like the DDM 3000K becasue the foglight itself looks stock to almost a dim halogen color (no JDM yellow look), but there's lots of light on the ground and it'll still cut through fog.

How'd you get your hands on a DDM kit?

The shipping from ddmtuning itself is pretty expensive. Did you manage to find it locally

ordered it on their website and shipped it to point roberts. After duties and tax, it's still way cheaper than anything here.

hmmm i thought HID was supposed to be less hot than halogens?
i got my hands on a set of IS300 projector fogs online. they're already using clear yellow projectors. so doesn't matter what colour bulb i use, but i have a set of 3000K HIDs sitting around anyways. should i just get regular 3000K bulbs on top of the yellow projectors?
seems like having 3000K HIDs might be too much on top of already yellow projectors... what do you guys thing?

Go with yellow. Superior visibility and better looks, what more can you ask for?

The 6000k looks a bit ricey and out of place on fogs.

The website ddmtuning.com says they ONLY ship to your billing address on your credit card.

credit card billing address is obviously in Canada, so I'm assuming this is the new system?

Blazer projectors? aka Canadian Tire?

And VIP?

I can't believe you put those two together. Nothing says cheap ass shit fog lights like Blazer brand. I wouldn't even put that shit on my Crapalier... and it's a piece of shit.

Are these supposed to be FOG lights, or BLING lights?

Answer that question, and you'll have the answer to your choice of color.

^ the IS fogs aren't as good as the ES fogs, I did a lot of research before buying blazer.

Sadly I don't have any pics of them as I just got them on again Monday haha
was going to retrofit them in to my oem fogs but there wasn't enough clearance trying to work around it right now :)

any colour is good as long as you aim them properly and not turn them on for no reason. both will blind traffic and make people hate you.

These blazer projectors are not from Canadian Tire.

They're widely praised and arguably the best projectors for their price, giving the best output and cutoff while keeping it under budget.

Like aznboi mentioned, they're compared to OEM quality lexus is300 fogs, as well as used in the corvettes if I remember correctly.

All done and installed at RISE auto salon (RS sponsor).

Weak output since they're halogen bulbs still, but looks great in terms of aesthetics.

What do you guys think?

Oh, I guess they have a new system now. Just ship it to your billing then, brokerage fees will suck but it's very good quality to price value. I ran brightstars on my old integra and those still go for 3-400 /set.
