It's good if you qualify for it. Basically, If you only have a T4 and nothing else, then you qualify.

QUICKTAX FREE ONLINE EDITION - For Income-Only Tax Returns
You can use QuickTax Free Online Edition if:

* You Earned Income: You receive T-slips, like T4s & T4As. You may have have tip income and/or pension income.
o You are not self-employed.
o You do not have investment income or RRSPs.
o You have not made any charitable donations or investments.
* You Have Simple Deductions: You receive only 'standard' federal & provincial deductions.

QUICKTAX STUDENT ONLINE EDITION - For Post-Secondary Student Tax Returns
You can use QuickTax Student Online Edition if:

* You Were a Student in 2009: You paid tuition fees during the 2009 calendar year and you hold a T2202A, TL11 or its equivalent.
* You Made Under $20K: Your household income does not exceed $20,000 gross (that is, before taxes).

I've used quicktaxweb for quite awhile now. It's $17 bucks. I get my return done in 15 min, since I only have my T4 and RRSPs to worry about.

as long as ur gross income is 20,000 or less its free, and you get all the tools.

it could be 10k busines income
9 k employment income
its still free.

my advice for small business owners, contractors, or ppl in general is to get a thing called "Neat receipts". This thing is AWESOME it scans all ur receipts, files them according to category, price, and tax categories. In the end you can throw away the paper and have all the receipt images on file and pull them out according to categories. Makes expenses SOOOOO much easier and super fast. It auto detects and fills in the info when you scan a receipt. I find it 95% accurate in filling the info for you.

I bought mine for $180 USD off ebay but they have it for $165 at costco atm. It'll be the best $165 you've spent aside from a korean prostitute!
