That's cool... problem is I'm not sure how many companies would shell out the money to get this luxury item.

it'd probably be cheaper to hire a mexican to bag and unbag your umbrella

it keeps their building dry
and more customers might be willing to come to their store if they know they wont have to drag around a wet umbrella.
Just a thought

This will not fly because places are trying to ban plastic bags.

if the machine could re-stack the plastic bags and keep on being reused, i think it be a big hit

remember seeing that in HK, some guy tried to stick his umbrella in but he FAILED
think this would only work in a place as clean as japan and with a better recycling system, as well as people who are actually WILLING to recycle the bags and not throw them out

Until someone steps into your store and makes the whole place wet, then someone slips and falls and starts to sue your company millions for, depression, mental anguish, loss of wages, loss of sleep due to nightmares, loss of freedom due to agony and pain, loss of social life due to fear of going out , blah, blah, blah, blah..... you get the point :D
The machine "eats" the used bags too thus it gets recycled, won't be surprised if thing catches on and they simply send used bags to get cleaned and dried and reused again. Its just rain water anyway.

The amount of energy including fuel it would take to reuse the bag would kill any benefits of recycling the bag.
Also in 19 years of running a gas station we have never been sued and don't know any gas station that has been sued. If people have a wet umbrella they can just leave it at the door.
