tried it out when I was down in Texas this year since I remember reading an article about Obama going to the burger joint and saying it was good/one of his favorite...i think it's called 5 guys cause there are 5 guys assembling the burger
anyways onto the review...burger meat is cooked fresh, you get to pick different toppings for your burger, I had the bacon chesseburger with grilled onion, ketcup, etc...the burger was good but was pretty greasy, and the fries were not anything special...
I haven't tried out any other burger joints around (i.e. vera burger/fat burger) but I would assume that it is very comparable
I realize this is not much of a review but hey go try it out, you'll have a lot of punch lines after you eat there....you can tell all your friends that you tried 5 guys for the first time and tell how "filling" it is

I went to the one in Medicine Hat when i was there for work and i must say that it was one of the best burgers i've ever had. It was a fairly big burger, for me at least, and i got to choose whatever toppings and condiments i wanted. Also the cajun fried were very good as well.
Granted i haven't been to those other burger chains like White Castle, In N Out etc. so i can't compare with them. It was a little pricier than your McDonalds or Wendy's but definitely worth a try! :)

They have one in Renton, WA just off Exit 5 off I-405 (couple blocks west of Fry's Electronics). Walked by it and my buddy (local guy) pointed it out and said he had to take me to try next time. Told me it's the shiz. :D

I had Five Guys the other day on a short trip to WA.. It's definitely a good burger, but i wouldn't say it's out of this world. Although you DO get free toppings (grilled mushrooms, mayo, mustard, grilled onions, raw onions, BBQ sauce, etc, etc), and free peanuts! (They just have boxes of peanuts there and it's self-serve)

dropped by yesterday for lunch. had the cheeseburger + A-1 sauce and a bunch of toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, mayo, ketchup) with regular cajun fries. for the cajun fries, they filled the cup and seriously another cupful spilled over in the bag. the fries tasted very fresh.
can't wait to go again

Five Guys is reputably known for overfilling your take out bag with additional fries.

I stopped by on Thursday and had a Cheesebuger, regular cajun fries and a regular drink. The total came up to around $14 for the whole meal. The burger was alright, nothing special, the fries were like New York Fries except a little underdone. I'd rather stop by McDonalds and grab a Big Mac meal and a Double Quarter Pounder meal for the same price.

WTF??? $14 is quite excessive for a fast food joint. When I went to Five Guys in New York I think I got the same for around $10 or less. Locally, you could get a similar meal at Vera's Burger for less (which I find quite comparable after eating at both places), or even White Spot which is a full sit down restaurant!

Pricey, but pretty good.
I ordered a Cheese Burger w/o knowing it's actually a double-patty burger. Greasy as hell and they do overstuff your pag w/ fries.
Cheese Burger+Medium Pop+Reg. order of fries=$14.70 sth.

Five Guys is far better than White Spot Burgers in my opinion, so I won't draw that comparison. Vera's, on the other hands, to each their own.
I personally like the patties at Five Guys better than Vera's because it tastes fresh, when you take your first bite into the beef patty, you can actually see the juices from the beef running down your fingers dripping onto the tin foil. The quality of the beef is similar to In N' Out from the states I'd say. It's a premium price to pay for quality, but it's not like you are going there everyday.

Yes, Five Guys Burger and Fries has peanuts to eat while you wait for your order, there was a "Peanut Station" setup on top of the sacks of potatoes. The guy that took my order said we could help ourselves to them.

i went on sunday i believe, it was pretty good, i ordered cajun fries with my combo thinking it would be like those curly fries that have a little seasoning, it had a crap load of spices, and i was like whoa, my gf liked it tho since her tolerance is 100x more than mine. they did have peanuts, like 4 boxes of them around the store. it was help your self which i thot was awesome, one thing i wished they had tho was trays, i dont really like eating in and using a bag. Burger was good, only ordered a mini cheeseburger i think thats what it was called and it was big enough.

i went today for lunch. had the regular burger and regular fries. came out to $11 exactly. didn't get a drink since i prefer not to drink pop(there's free refills though).
the fries are pretty good tasting. wish they were more crispy on the outside though. and man, do they pack your bag. it's not just the cup of fries. they add another half cup into your bag. forgot to get cajun though, i love cajun spice.
i got the burger with everything (i think they call it "all the way"). had pretty good taste. patties were juicy. the grilled mushrooms in the burger were nice.
they id have peanuts for you to enjoy, but i didn't bother to grab any since the food came out pretty quick.
probably one of the best commercial made burgers i've had since i went to in-n-out 2 years ago. (my 1 lb patty burgers are the best)
