I made that mistake too. I bought a US Pro thinking it was the same as the Canadian one and after I had it installed the range was sh!T. The US 900 models look the same but have a diferent antenna and work on a different frequency. Its like less than half the range or something.
Plus if you buy the canadian model you get full warranty to.

how do I tell if it's Canadian or US?? I got it off a buddy of mine from Alberta. I was reading on it on forums and it said it was half the distance than the US, but everything else works for yours right?

Look on the antenna. it will have some numbers. One set is Canadian, the other is American.

Thanks! How much is installation at your location? If I don't sell it, I might as well use it myself

sorry to the TS for shitting on your thread, but i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one interested in knowing the answer to this....
What #'s correspond to Canadian and American? and what other ways can we differentiate American vs Canadian model?

This I believe is an american model;

And Canadian, but with a White remote;

Difference is in the antenna, the one with the twisted look and the blue remote is lower range.
Maybe someone else can chime in an confirm.

The American models look just like the Canadians. The difference is the Mhz. They use part of a 900 Mhz, while we use a 433Mhz. It's their FCC that put a HAM radio frequency on the approximate frequency that made them rule that one out. Now they suffer with 2000 feet of possible range.
We could install it for you at a very reasonable rate. Give us a call next week to see what kind of options that you want and we'll give you the Revscene deal.

Frequency is different for sure, but I thought physically it's the antenna as well. Either way, Canadian is the better way to go for sure.

what about comparing Compustar Pro's?
I don't see any indicators on the antenna that say if it's 900 or 433 Mhz

I checked mine and I believe mine is the 900 Mhz. It's not the Canadian one, but the distance is still really good; my friend has it on his RSX. Still up for sale!! PM me with offers!!
