Hi folks,
I know of a shop that is looking for a secondary motorcycle/scooter mechanic to help keep up with the demands of the shop's work. I know the owners on a business level and have become good friends with them, however, not THAT great of friends.
The shop specializes in vintage Vespa's, Lambretta's, NSU's, Fuji's - you get the idea - vintage scooters and mopeds. The shop consists of a husband and wife with over 13 years of scooter experience and they are some of the most awesome people I have ever met.
What they are looking for is a secondary mechanic who has a working ability to repair/troubleshoot/diagnose/install modern 4-stroke scooters such as the Yamaha Vino/BWS, Honda Jazz/Ruckus, Kymco, Vespa, Piaggio, Derbi etc. You must have experience with 2-stroke/4-stroke motors and CVT transmissions. Must be able to work independantly without having to ask a bunch of questions all the time. You must be dependable, trustworthy, honest, and have a knack to learn and to take your own initiative to do it once, and to do it right. Lazy people need not apply.
Your duties will range from a simple tune-up oil change, brake adjustment, shop cleanup to installing 70cc kits onto motors. As you go along, you will be able to work on the vintage scooters. This is just a general idea of what is expected, however, I'm sure you get the idea.
Location: I will not reveal the address of the shop however, it is in East Vancouver.
Rate of pay: I will also not reveal this as this will depend on your experience and is up to the shop owners to decide. I have no say nor any idea what they are paying.
Requirements: I already mentioned this above. If you have no experience, please click on the BACK button on your browser.
Why am I holding back so much information and being such a douchebag: It's because I want this shop to grow and to become successful and to prevent lifeless losers who once took Automotive Mechanics 11 thinking they are God's gift to the world of vintage Vespa's.
If you meet any of the requirements and feel that you have what it takes, send me a PM to further discuss. Please give me a brief description of your experience and what your expectations are, then we will proceed.
Please DO NOT PM me any non-sense questions. All that you need to know is in this thread. Thanks!
