going down to oregon this sunday and just wanna get some inputs on which malls or factory outlets i should go to for shopping
i wanna avoid going to downtown as much as possible to avoid the hassle of finding parking plus i dont really know my way around since i'll be following the gps... an example in vancouver area would be going to metrotown or the factory outlet near queensborough bridge instead of downtown pacific center... anyways u guys get the idea
just let me know the names of the malls or factory outlets..thx in advance |

Woodburn is probably the only outlet worth going to, however, I find outlets have nothing but crap. I prefer to hit up the malls. I just came back from a 3 day shopping trip. Try: Washington Square, Clackamas Centre and Lloyd centre, those are the larger malls in the area.

Woodburn is the shits! I go there every year and they never disappoint. But make sure to watch out for traffic jams because it's brutal....I stayed at the hotel across from the mall so it wasn't bad.
When I was driving down, I did see some small cluster's of "outlet stores" such as Coach, and Nike, but I never know how to turn into those... it doesn't seem to be a large outlet mall/centre like Woodburn, but more along the lines of Queensborough in New Westminister :S Anyone have info?

go downtown if you wanna check out the nicer stores.
saks fifth ave is inside pioneer place. they also have a LV store, bebe store (for your gf - if you have one) and lots of other nice higher-end stores.
nordstrom rack is also right across from the mall. pearl district downtown has some nice stores too like diesel, adidas, puma, lululemon and even a northface store.
but +1 for lloyd center. decent big mall to go to. if u wanna drive further out washington square in beaverton (i think), is a nice mall as well. has some good stores for more trendy shit.

Nordstrom Rack in Hillsboro, OR (10 min drive from DT portland) this one has more stuff compared to the DT rack.
Jake's Grill (in downtown portland, AWESOME food for SUPER cheap; happy hour on weekdays is after 930pm) there's no traffic in DT around this time.
If you like Arizona Ice tea, hit up Winco (also in hillsboro near nordstrom rack)... they sell it for 68 cents each and have all the flavours... the 'arnold palmer' one is the best.
Finally, go to costco.. for $1 churros... lol

another Portland related q: any suggestions on a place to stay close to downtown Portland?
we will not be driving, unless we decide to rent a car there - not too sure on that yet.

I usually stay at Holiday Inn Express for the free breakfast. I get employee rates @ all Intercontinental group hotels, but choose the Express since there's free wifi and breakfast. There's one near Lake Oseigo, which is nice because it's close to Nob Hill, which is a pretty neat place to visit, sorta like a Yaletown/Commerical drive area.
