NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS1130) - The plug has suddenly been pulled on the night market planned to be set up next to the Starlight Casino in New Westminster.

The City says the application for a permit was withdrawn Friday, and no reason was given for the cancellation. The proposed casino night market was set to be debated by New West council on Monday.

There's two night markets that were suppose to happen this year. Hopefully The owner of Zipang Sushi opens a Takoyaki stall there again!

the fucken crack heads and homeless destroyed it. I used to love going down there 15+ yrs ago. Went with my parents and I was just so amazed of the Chinese culture and the food is beyond awesome and of course all the people cool stores and stands. Now theres just a bunch of bums walking the streets. I went a couple months back and there was this old women stealing shit from one of the outside stands and it made me sick :/

back in the day when it was at landsdowne it was perfect! then beside river rock was OK too, but now behind home depot just ruins traffic in that area + knight street bridge
