That's going to change very soon. Canon is canceling everyone's CPS membership, and introducing new requirements. Everyone is going to have to re-apply. You will need a minimum of 2 pro bodies and 3 'L' lenses, and prove to Canon Canada that you earn 100% of your income from photography or photographic services.

They're doing this because there are too many amateurs who have a CPS# and really don't deserve it.

I haven't heard that they changed yet, but I may be wrong. I'll have to clarify.

LOL I own two pro bodies and more than 3 L lenses and I don't make 100% of my income through photography. Meaningless requirements.

how much can you get lenses for if you're a CPS member?

Confirmed, those are the new CPS requirements.

Only the 1D bodies and L lenses are eligible for CPS pricing, and in many cases it's lower than wholesale.

^ But not by much right?

Not by much - there isn't much of a profit margin on bodies and lenses anyways, so the discount isn't as great as you may assume.
