This looks like Smelt Fish.

They are darn tasty when coated with some basic flour mix and fried. (Clean beforehand).

Smelt use to be pretty abundant a while back

the eel thing actually "stings" you hurts like a b*tch.

thanks for sharing, after tmr's exams i will visit the tidal fraser as well. I've heard and caught all of those except the "eel" and the flounder/sole none the less they should be there since is tidal waters.

I assume you're using peanut butter dough, still water/lake pole, no float set up? mind sharing where you get the rod holder?

@ subordinate
the "small white fish" or chub and "big white" northern pikeminnows are fun to catch since the northern pikeminnows get up to 30cm long. But not too good for eating since it has a lot of "Y" shaped bones =(

WHOSE UP FOR RS FISHING NIGHT?

theyre all online now but Army&Navvy still do the old invoice style (mainly for the Asians who may not have computer access)

they're printable so if you lose it you can just download and print out another one.

Fishing there is fun but it's always dinky bullheads. Best is going sturgeon fishing. I caught a few in Richmond last year.

But def time to get a license and dust off the rod.

Nice, that was the one I went on a few years ago too.

I like how they have the prawn traps. When I went, they set the traps on our way to the sea....on our way back, we got prawns. Got a lot of prawns and I myself netted a 20lb lingcod.

yup, same here... loads of prawns and crabs on the way home + fish !!

the stuff you bring home is def equal or more than what you paid for the trip

What I find is a lot of people don't understand that the cost for the trip is well worth the price in terms of the fun and what you get in fish and seafood.

1. Put bait on hook.
2. Cast hook into water.
3. Wait.
4. Wait some more.
5. Wait...
6. If you feel a tug, reel in your hook.
7. If you haul in a fish, dance in celebration. If you don't, curse the fishing gods and rebait hook.
8. Go back to step 1.

That will be $100. I accept all major credit cards via PayPal.

I was in tawassen by the ferries this morning and there was literally nothing biting. Caught 2 flounder and 1 giant bullhead between 4 people. Only came back with 3 crabs too (one per crab trap!!!!). I was out there for a good 2.5 hours too.

So i've just got back from the fishing trip today.... pictures quality are pretty shitty

http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac306/cyy11/IMG00068-20100509-0821.jpg

Sea lions (those were huge, i think at least 8 to 10 feet in size and around 50- 60 sea lions chilling there)

http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac306/cyy11/IMG00071-20100509-1004.jpg

Octopus that we caught in a prawn trap

http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac306/cyy11/IMG00070-20100509-0857.jpg

There were total of 46 crabs and average about 3lbs and about 1 feet in size

http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac306/cyy11/IMG00073-20100509-1154.jpg

Lincods, rockcods.

we caught total of 12 rockcods average about 4-6lbs (that was the limit, we've caught about 25 rockcods but the extra were release back into the water)

Didnt really have too much luck with lingcods (only caught 4, the requirement for a legal lingcod has to be 2ft long)

Didnt have much luck with the prawn on this trip either, only caught 8 prawns in total lol

^ for the season now its 8 hours for a 10-12 person boat for about 1400 i think... its a good deal about 100 a person for a whole day of fun, and lots of seafood at night!
