Does anyone still provide free ice?
I used to fill my coolers with ice from McDonald's, but it seems they stopped doing this for people. Does anyone still provide this courtesy?
Or am I stuck paying a few bucks per bag from the convenience stores?

donate $5 as people said at MCD's you will be fine this time of year. Towards summer most stop doing it since so many people ask. What I do is freeze water bottles and toss them in the cooler which helps keep everything cool and you can drink the melted water when thirsty. I only drink rum so I put rum and coke in the frozen water bottles (when enough is melted of course) and it keeps my drink nice and cold and mostly spill proof.

yep works great when camping, at first you cant fit much in but it melts of course and fit more in. Works perfect when sitting in the water relaxing and its not as noticeable as holding a beer can.

It's a cooler he needs to fill up not a glass.
Like people said, try a fastfood chain most of them will do it for free.
Thanks for the replies guys, I tried offering McD's a donation like I do every year, but they turned me down last time. Maybe the manager was just being a bitch. Guess I'll try them again.
And obviously I'd make the ice myself, but it's kinda hard when you lack the ice trays and freezer space....
The frozen water bottles idea sounds pretty good too, I'll have to look into this.

Get some Dry Ice.
Pour some water in the cooler, dump a slice of Dry ice in there.
Keep the other ones wrapped until you use it.
A block costs $20? from Praxair.
Last a few hours, and give a cool bubbling/fog action in the cooler. DONT TOUCH IT WITH BARE HANDS.
But a block, wear gloves, cut it in chunks.
Keep half of it in your freezer if you're not using it. Or just get them to slice a block into a few pieces and get them to wrap it. Keep it somewhere cool in some shade if you're fishing.

Frozen water bottles last better than Ice or those ICe freezer things. It's cheaper and people can drink the water later once it starts to melt. Usually it can last the whole day. :)

IDK if you actually went in or not but just call the McD's in the area and when one of them says it's OK, make sure you get the manager's name so you can say then authorized it when you go in.

try nightclubs? the machine fills the fuck up and then just sits there for off days, if you know someone in the biz, tell them you will give em some money to fill up and Im sure they will, the machine will be filled by the time they open for the night / couple nights away anyhow, machine works the same amount.

I have a great ice recipe if you want to buy it. $10 but its totally worth it. It keeps your drinks cold and the only ingredient you need is water which is free. It will pay off in the long run.

Keep half of it in your freezer if you're not using it. .
Putting dry Ice in your freezer is not a good idea.
It is best not to store Dry Ice in your freezer because your freezer's thermostat will shut off the freezer due to the extreme cold of the Dry Ice! Of course if the freezer is broken, Dry Ice will save all your frozen goods.
