It's the ultimate height in personal travel, inspired by Mercedes-Benz's R-Class car series. Unlike their sportscars though, this helicopter can carry eight people in style and has a TV, fridge and requisite cup holders.

It's got wooden floors but the seats can be upholstered in custom shades—or even your family's coat of arms, I'm guessing. For something so airborne it's surprising there's even room for storing bikes and golf clubs in the tail, or maybe even an inflatable dinghy should the desire for a paddle overcome you.

Available at the tail-end of 2011, there's no word on price just yet—which is just as well. I don't want to be giving anyone a heart attack.

Are you kidding me? That's not sufficient ballin' for Hyde. It was originally a one-off for Hyde, but he has allowed MB to mass-produce it.

he's been gone for over a year...
although he does have a new account I'm pretty sure.
I just don't remember what it was... but either way, he's been quiet.

"Holy". You mean "holy shit". You repeat this mistake often enough that it warrants being pointed out.

This is Holly:

Mercedes did build aircraft engines during WW2 (3 point star stands for Land, Sea, Air). So did BMW (logo is a white propeller spinning against a blue sky)

With that said, is that article for real? Building a helicopter is way the hell more complex than a car.

It looks like MB took a Eurocopter 145, and did a business conversion to MB standards.

The base airframe found here http://www.eurocopter.com/site/en/ref/Technology_94.html

Its no different than someone doing a business conversion on a Boeing 737 to their own standards, and not BBJ standards. (i.e. Project Phoenix http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2010/05/03/341360/ebace-project-phoenix-to-offer-bbj-alternative.html)
