Accident on Knight Street Bridge Southbound

omg.. drove by a crazy accident on Knight St. Southbound near the Bridgeport exit.
I drove by at around 1:35am, the accident must have happened less than 2 minutes before I got there. The car was flipped on its roof sprawled across all of the right lane and a bit of the left. As I drove by the body was still there, the guy's face was all bloody. He was definitely unconscious, was not in good shape.
Looked like a silver integra but I could be wrong because I was just so shocked at seeing the body.
The firetruck and police drove by me near the New Westminster Hwy. exit so that's why I assumed it must have happened just before I got there.
Wow... it was a crazy sight.. hope the driver will be alright.

.......no pics? no calling ambulance?

No pics, the car was blocking all of the right lane and a bit of the left so there was only one lane for cars to get through. And I'm not going to stop and take pics, especially if the body is still there.
The firetruck/police were already on there way like I said above, an ambulance would have already been called.

Was gonna stop and help but one of their buddies just waved me to pass- If they can handle the situation best to leave them to that-
Looks like it was a one-car accident. Driver probably lost control. Hopefully driver and any passenger are ok.

talked to some witnesses -driver passed away, one of the passengers ran away and the other one left in ambulance. supposedly the firefighters were on scene pretty fast but didn't do anything till the ambulance came.

VANCOUVER — The driver of a silver sedan is dead after an early-morning crash on the Knight Street Bridge.
The car crashed and flipped over at about 1:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the Bridgeport exit on the Richmond side.
A passenger was also reportedly taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
Police were expecting southbound lanes to remain closed into the morning rush hour as they investigated.
"Commuters are advised to take an alternate route this morning and avoid the Knight Street Bridge," said RCMP spokesman Sgt. Rob Vermeulen.
"While northbound lanes are open, traffic will be affected and long delays are expected."
Vermeulen said police don't know how soon the bridge will fully reopen.

^ I think it was only the Southbound lanes that were closed, so you should be good to go regardless.

Yeah- I saw someone's parent at the scene. It's really sad- No parent should ever out live their child.
Drive safe people- although it doesn't sound convincing coming from me.
But wth @ one of the passengers running away.

For passenger running away there could be more to this story. Drinking? Smoking weed? Hell, maybe passanger had a warrant on him.

Southbound is open now
VANCOUVER — The driver of a silver sedan is dead after an early-morning crash on the Knight Street Bridge.
The car crashed and flipped over at about 1:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the Bridgeport exit on the Richmond side.
A passenger was also taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
Police closed the southbound lanes well into the morning rush hour as they investigated.
Commuters were urged to avoid the bridge even if travelling north as long delays were expected.
Several bus routes were also affected and shuttles were set up with service over the Art Laing Bridge to the west.
The bridge reopened to traffic in both directions shortly before 9 a.m.

its ok for a passenger to be drinking, even if he was smoking up he could ditch watever is on him and help his frd. the driver was probably giving the passenger a ride, some kind of friend to just ran away.

This probably indicates they were drinking/drugs, and the person wanted nothing to with cops when they showed up.

The driver probably wasn't driving safely but he should never deserve to die. Sucks that it takes shit like this to remind people that driving dangerously will cost them their lives eventually.

The drug lord must have taken their families as hostages and they must deliver a precious cargo before sunrise. The buddy ran away because he must complete his mission, even if it meant stepping over his friend's dead body.

Yeah... skid marks look he started from the left lane and slid out of control towards the right and hit the barrier and flipped?
My guess would be that speed would probably have been pretty excessive... and maybe he was swerving to pass someone, and maybe that someone decided to change lanes as well, either intentionally or not, and the driver of the Civic panicked and couldn't pull off an emergency lane change properly, lost control, and it was good night.
