I read somewhere that actually the windshield is the easiest to kick out (as a solid piece) because it's held in place by glue, as opposed to guides/rails for the side windows. Also it should be easier because you can just curl your legs upwards and use your leg strength as opposed to your fists.

Can't say I've ever tried though. Obviously that emergency hammer would be most effective but 99.9% of us aren't going to have one.
