: New Google Layout

What the hell is up w/ it? Why did they try to fix something that wasn't even close to broke?

Now it looks like Microsoft Bing which really blows my mind.

^ Ya, fair enough. Some will like, some won't. It's just aggravating when websites cram changes down your throat.

How simple would it be to just make an option to hide the sidebar? For some reason they insist on it being there, which doesn't make any sense.

But yea, I'll get used to it sooner or later.

The whole reason I use Google is because of its simplicity. Now it looks all cluttered and bloated. I really wish they just put an option to hide the sidebar. Whatever... I'm sure someone will make a Firefox plugin to remove it sooner or later

I think the new layout is fantastic. I often refine my searches by date lately, and now it's right there in the sidebar.

Yeah, I search by date relevancy and before it was a bitch reading old articles from 2004.

As a side note, how does google know what you're typing in? The autocomplete feature is pretty crazy...

The silly part is that you can hide the Maps sidebar, but not the search one...
